Sheikh Imam Yakub Aliagan, the Seriki Malami of Ilorin Emirate, has revealed that Sheikh Sa’adudeen Kuranga was the key figure who inspired him to enroll at the Az-Zumratul Adabiyyatul Kamaliyyah Arabic & Islamic Institute.
This was disclosed on Wednesday during the inaugural Centenary Public Lecture held on Wednesday to commemorate the institute’s 100th anniversary schedule for next year 2026,
The event, organized by the Az-Zumratul Adabiyyatul Kamaliyyah Alumni Association in collaboration with Sheikh Imam Sa’adudeen Adebayo Alabi Kuranga Al-Adaby, Imam Alege, and Olori-Omokewu Adabiyyah Worldwide, took place at Ile Kuranga on ObaMama Road in Adabata, Ilorin.
Just Event Online TV reports, It served as a tribute to Sheikh Sa’adudeen, who holds the title of Olori-Omokewu Adabiyyah Worldwide (leader of students).
In his sermon, Sheikh Aliagan praised Sheikh Sa’adudeen as “a man of knowledge and wisdom whose life is an example to coming generations.
He further highlighted the legacy of the institute’s founder, Sheikh Muhammed Habeebllah Kamaldeen, the first Grand Mufti of Ilorin and proprietor of the school.
Sheikh Kamaldeen lived a life that many generations are learning from his pool of knowledge, and the school he established is now serving the world,” Sheikh Aliagan stated.
Adding to the accolades, the 4th Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Faruq Sulaiman Onikijipa OON, described Sheikh Sa’adudeen Kuranga as a mentor to many.
He offered prayers for Allah to grant him continued good health.
The lecture drew a distinguished crowd, including representatives of Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq from his cabinet, the Turaki of Ilorin and Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Sen. Saliu Mustapha, Grand Khadi of the Shariah Court of Appeal Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen, a retired Grand Khadi, and Kwara Commissioner for Education Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, among other notable figures.
