The Kwara Coding and Digital Literacy Programme 2025 represents a strategic and significant expansion of the state’s commitment to building a future-ready workforce. Following the successful 2024 pilot that equipped students across six centers with tech and Innovative skills, the 2025 initiative was launched as a large-scale, institutional program integrated into 50 public secondary schools statewide.

The programme is designed to equip a target of 7,500 students with essential digital literacy and coding knowledge, serving as a transformative pilot scheme for broader digital education in Kwara.

*Key Program Metrics & Geographic Reach*

The selection of schools ensured wide geographic representation to foster statewide digital inclusion:

Kwara Central: 15 Schools
Kwara North: 13 Schools
Kwara South: 22 Schools

As of July 2025, the programme has successfully onboarded and trained 5,603 students, demonstrating significant traction toward its goal. A notable achievement is the gender distribution, with female participants (53.5%) slightly outnumbering males (46.5%), underscoring the programme’s success in promoting inclusive access to technology education.

*Breakdown by Senatorial District:*

Kwara South: 2,186 students (39%)
Kwara Central: 2,095 students (37.4%)
Kwara North: 1,322 students (23.6%)
