The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, has disassociated itself from a viral publication titled “Offa Students Slam Kwara Governor Over False Hostel Construction Claims.”
In a statement released by the Union President, Babatunde Olamilekan Matthew and obtained by Just Event Online TV , the SUG described the report as unauthorised and not representative of the student body’s views.
The Union emphasized that it had no involvement in the creation or circulation of the publication and is unaware of its source or motive.
While acknowledging ongoing concerns regarding the state of hostels on campus, the SUG maintained that it remains committed to addressing such issues through constructive dialogue with school authorities and relevant government bodies.
“As a responsible union, we are focused on engaging the appropriate channels to improve student welfare rather than resorting to politically driven media narratives,” the statement read.
The Union also warned political actors and opposition figures to desist from exploiting student-related issues for propaganda purposes. It reaffirmed that any official stance on student matters will be communicated directly by the SUG leadership.
“We urge the public to disregard the misleading report and rest assured of our continued efforts to represent students’ interests with responsibility and diplomacy,” the SUG President added.
