The Kwara State Young Progressives Party, (YPP) has declared readiness to raise funds for young Aspirants contesting under the platform of the party.
The party made this known during a partnership meeting with “Support me to lead movement” at the party state secretariat in Ilorin yesterday.
The Chairman of the party, Mr. Charles Olufemi Folayan, while hosting the team leaders of the “Support me to lead” said, funding young aspirants who can lead is one of the top priorities of the party. He stressed that the aims of the “Not too young bill” can never be achieved if there is no deliberate effort to address the “Too poor to run” situation of the youths.
“The not too young to run” would not achieve its aim without “Not too poor to run” though our party gives special consideration to the youths and women in all our fees, yet, a political campaign in this country is not cheap.
The Coordinator of the “Support Me to Lead Movement” Kwara State Chapter Comr. Sikiru Ambali Abidemi said, his organization has put in place a platform to mobilize funds for young aspirants. He said, YPP is the first party to come to mind when thinking about youth inclusion in politics and governance, and no doubt, that the party is the platform where the real opportunity lies for the youths.
He commended the YPP for reawakening the spirit of the young people and pledged cooperation with the party on this partnership.
