He said their partnership in healthcare, disaster response and management, among other humanitarian endeavors, reflect their collective responsibilities to uplift and support communities in need.

“This occasion is of profound significance as we honor the legacy of humanitarianism epitomized by Sir Jean Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross, whose birthday on May 8 is well celebrated across the globe”.

“It is a time for us to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of our vast network of Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers worldwide, whose selfless dedication embodies our shared commitment to a common humanity”.

He appreciated the state government for their steadfastness in response to disasaters, and for their commitment to the noble cause of humanitarianism.

He prayed that the relevant Agency of Government at all levels be more proactive in providing sucour to the victims of Natural disasters.

Meawhile, we must restate the challenges we are facing at Red Cross Kwara State Branch, such as the pressing need for operational vehicles, deart of humanitarian materials among others which hinder our ability to carry out our humanitarian services effectively.*

This year’s theme, “Keeping Humanity Alive,” echoes deeply the ethos of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Our dedicated volunteers and staff, reaching over 14 million globally, tirelessly serving their various communities, providing vital services that often proved to be life-changing, if not life-saving.

“As we mark 161 years of humanitarian actions, let us reaffirm our unwavering commitment to providing relevant and timely assistance to vulnerable communities, both now and in the future.

“I express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every volunteers for their tireless efforts in keeping humanity alive. Your dedication exemplifies the very best of the human spirit, and for that, I commend you. Together, let us continue to make a difference in the lives of those in need, and may we be blessed in our endeavors”.
