We’ll convert your abandoned buses from fuel to electric power – KWASU Ag VC , Prof Lukman assures Kwara Express

 

The Kwara State University, Malete Centre for Sustainable Energy CSE, has said the institution is ready to partner with Kwara Express on the conversion of their abandoned buses from fuel to electric power.

This was made known on Thursday by the Ag VC, Prof Sheikh Luqman during a working and inspection visit to the premises of Kwara Express along with other delegations.

Speaking to Just Event Online TV, Prof Luqman said the delegation’s visit are based on Kwara State Governor /Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum, Mallam AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman’s directives.

He said KWASU is ready to assist Kwara Express back to its feat , by resucitating the abandoned vehicles. He added that they will be able to compete with global best practices.

We have gone round the premises and picked 20 buses that can be converted to electric, he said.

The VC urged the Kwara Government led by Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON to always partner with KWASU in innovation and other human capital development

Also speaking, an Associate Professor of Kwara System and Director Center for Sustainable Energy, Dr Lambe Adeshina, commended the state govt while describing the partnership as a welcome development. He assured the management of Kwara Express that the joint work will not be a game of loss.

AbdulAzeez Akande, Head of Technical Unit, Centre for Sustainable Energy also assured that the abandoned vehicles in Kwara Express will be back to work at a better performing opportunity.

In their reactions, Acting CEO/GMD Harmony Holdings Limited, Mrs Moji Afolayan and Engr. Yusuf Abubakar, Ag. GM Harmony Transport Services Ltd, lauded the partnership with KWASU. They stated that the end result will bring a possible solution that will bring a positive change in operation

They equally expressed excitement added that the intervention is timely.
