No fewer than three (3) district heads (Alanguas) in Ilorin South local government has assured the Social Democratic Party’s candidate for Ilorin East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. (Dr) Abdulganiyu Saka-Cook Olododo of massive votes from communities under their watch.
The Alanguas made their open endorsement for Olododo during his visit to their respective palaces as part of his ward to Ward campaign across the twenty three (23) wards that constitutes his Federal Constituency.
The Alanguas that declared support for Olododo and pray fervently for his re-election includes that of Opolo, Akanbi and Tanke communities, in Akanbi wards 3 and 4 of Ilorin South local government.
The Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Offa garage unit, Alhaji Yaro Salman and his RTEAN counterpart, Alhaji Razaki Ajala (Bawo) also declare support tor Olododo and the SDP, noting that the lawmaker is the reason Offa garage is light up.
It could be recalled that Olododo’s campaign had witnessed endorsement galore from various traditional and community leaders, youths and aged people alike owing to the visibly incredible performance of the lawmaker, which they said has affected the lives of constituents across Ilorin East and South Local Governments.
The Alangua of Opolo in his remarks said “Even if you (Olododo) didn’t come here for campaign, we will reciprocate the love you’ve been showing us. You are a performer and sincere public servant to the core.
“You’ve done so much for several communities in Opolo district, you ameliorated long term suffering of our people who hitherto lacked portable water, public toilets, classrooms among others. We are impressed.”
The traditional leader however noted that the transformer given to Opolo community by Olododo since 2008 is now overloaded and the community is currently contributing money to get another, and therefore seek the lawmaker’s intervention.
For Alangua Akanbi, he is confident Olododo’s performance will get him reelected. He also expressed optimism about the victory of the SDP, assuring that the people of Akanbi district saw what Oladodo did and that they will reciprocate with their votes. He also thanked Olododo for the cash support for the construction of the Alangua’s palace.
Alangua Akanbi also lamented the level of hardship and impoverishment the people of his community has been subjected to, including several roads connecting communities in Akabi district in poor condition.
Alangua of Tanke in his remarks affirmed that “Olododo has been tested and he passed. He is responsive and responsible. He is doing well, he did Awolowo road, Messiah road, public toilets etc for us in Tanke. His empowerment program is also top notch. Our people benefited massively from your representation.
“Your party did well by choosing one of our sons, Issa Alfulani as it’s Assembly candidate, to whom we owe massive votes. I pray God deliver you and your party, SDP as the winner of the 2023 election.”
Earlier in his address at various locations, Hon. Oladodo said “We don’t have money, but we have the will to do the right thing for our people and that is why we are able to do what you are hailing us for.
“Like you rightly said, I am one of you. I grew up among you. All those foreign politicians who brings money during elections to buy support cannot use such office passionately. For home breeds like us, it is the love of our community that brought us into politics and that’s why we are sacrificing our all for the good of our people.
“I assure you, if you re-elect me and vote SDP, what we’ve done is just a tip of iceberg. You’ll feel what true governance is all about.”
Olododo also commissioned several projects facilitated by him in Akanbi wards 3 and 4, which includes Ago-Aiyekale primary healthcare Centre, transformer at Danialu, water works at Tanke and Kilanko area, and solar tent drier at Onireke.
The community Chairman of Ago Aiyekale during his remark’s appreciated Olododo for getting their hospital in good shape and appealed to the people not to deceive SDP, but support them genuinely tor the development of the community, while lamenting total neglect of the area by successive governments.
