A post on X (formerly Twitter) by Ibrahim Kazeem, popularly known as Peng Writer, has gone viral after he recounted how he allegedly lost a job opportunity because of his choice of attire.
Responding to a trending question on the platform which was monitored by Just Event Online TV, Kazeem narrated that he wore Ankara to a banking job test in a bid to stand out among other applicants. However, his attire reportedly subjected him to unusual treatment during the process.
According to him, the panel kept him aside and delayed his interview, possibly debating whether to admit him or send him away. Although he was eventually allowed to take part in the interview, he said he never received any feedback from the bank.
He further revealed that the senior colleague who had recommended him for the role remained displeased with him for three years over the incident.
Despite the experience, Kazeem maintained optimism, noting that the incident only strengthened his interest in pursuing a career in banking.
