Parents of concerned students of the Department of Optometry and Vision Science of the University of Ilorin have decried the alleged non-accreditation of the course run by the institution.
The parents, who disclosed this in a release sent to JUST EVENT ONLINE on Saturday said the course has not been accredited and they are tired of stories.
Narrating their ordeal to our correspondent in a phone conversation, the parents’ body said school management was not making efforts to address the challenge.
Also in a statement released, which reads, “BAYERO UNIVERSITY OPTOMETRY AND VISION SCIENCE STUDENTS, INDUCTION AND OATH TAKING AS SHOWN. MAY I KINDLY APPEAL TO THE AUTHORITY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILORIN AND THE VICE-CHANCELLOR PROFESSOR SULYMAN AGE, TO IN THE NAME OF GOD ALMIGHTY, DO ALL THINGS POSSIBLE, TO ENABLE OUR CHILDREN TO COME, THE PROLONGED ACCREDITATION ISSUES TO ENABLE THEM BE INDUCTED AS WELL. WE ARE TIRED OF THEIR STAYING IDLE AT HOME, WHATEVER IT TAKES FOR BAYERO UNIVERSITY UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, TO ACHIEVE THIS FEAT IS WORTHY OF EMULATION, THE PARENTS ARE READY TO SUPPORT THE UNIVERSITY IN ANYWAY POSSIBLE, AS WE HAVE BEEN DOING, FOR OUR CHILDREN TO ALSO OVERCOME THEIR PREDICAMENTS, THIS IS BETTER BY FAR, UNIVERSITY AND WE MUST NOT ALLOW BAYERO TO BEAT US TO THE SITUATION AN URGENT APPEAL SIR.

However, the school management was advised to do everything in their capacity to avail the course of its accreditation.
