Sulyman Rukoyyah Abidemi emerged as the winner of the maiden edition of Kwara Quiz powered by International Media Training Center. The Grand finale which featured quiz session was held at Kwara State Arts and Culture, Geri Alimi, Ilorin on Saturday 19th, November 2022.
IMTC had announced nine participants as finalists after the preliminary round which featured article submission. Six out of the nine participants were present, other three participants sent a note of absence before the commencement of the session where all three sited personal reason for their absence.
Sulyman Rokoyyah Abidemi from Edu Local Government had emerged with the best result with 75% out of the thirty-six participants during the preliminary round. She went up to win the Quiz proper.
Ajiboye Oluwatosin Oyewole from Oke Ero local government, Kwara South emerged as first runner-up in a keenly contested session. While Ibrahim Qoseem Olamide from Ilorin East local government, Kwara Central emerged as the second runner-up.
The Rukoyyah won herself a sum of N100,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab for emerging winner of the event. While Ajiboye Oluwatosin Oyewole won himself a sum of N70,000 with a smartphone and Ibrahim Qoseem Olamide won a sum of N50,000 with a smartphone.
Other three contestants that couldn’t make it to the top three were compensated with bags, flasks and other writing materials.
Convener, Kwara Quiz Mr. Jolaoluwa Afolabi in his words urge corporate organizations in Kwara to always look in the direction of programs as worthy ad Kwara Quiz and also appreciates the support from the governor of Kwara state for the success of the Maiden edition of Kwara Quiz, ” I must appreciate the support Kwara Quiz enjoyed from the governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. It’s more interesting that the governor only saw the advert of Kwara Quiz online and got in touch on how best he can come in to support the program. It’s a good feeling to know that Kwara State is blessed with a governor who is visionary and also a lover of youth constituency.
“We call on Corporate organizations across Kwara state should partner with programs of this magnitude to showcase to the outside world that Kwara is really blessed with youth of immense brilliance so as to corroborate the efforts the governor is putting towards Human capital development” He concluded
Dignitaries at the event includes Kwara State Commissioner for Women Affairs Risikat Mopelola Abdulmalik, Special Assistant New Media to the governor, Hon. Yinka Fafoluyi Solace who added a total sum of N50,000 to the prize of the winner. And also gift N10,000 each to other five contestants. Advocate Abdulazeez Abdulrazaq, CEO IMTC Jolaoluwa Afolabi and other dignitaries graced the occasion.
