Stakeholders urge to leverage on artificial intelligence, others to create modern steel industry in Nigeria

In a strategic move to pave way for sustainable development in Nigeria’s minerals and metals sector, the Federal Government through the ministry of Solid Minerals Development and Steel Development in Conjunction with the Kwara State Government has called on stakeholders to leverage on automation, artificial intelligence and sustainable practices to create a modern steel industry in the country.

Speaking on the theme, “Minerals and Metals Sector: A Panacea for Economic Growth and Diversity,” the Minister of State for Steel Development, Ubah Maigari Ahmadu, said the meeting came at a pivotal time in Nigeria, so as to create a transformative and sustainable prosperity in the steel sector in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu GCFR.

The minister urged Miners, Manufacturers, Researchers, Investors, Policy makers, Citizens and Business men to join hands in the national mission to revive the steel sector and invest in infrastructural development, stressing that steel is the backbone of modern infrastructure

Also speaking, the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq stated that the theme of the meeting aligns with the communal agenda of the state.

The Governor urged custodians of the steel sector to implement resolutions at the end of the meeting for the development of the country.

Kwara State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Hon. AbdulQowiy Olododo, implored prospective investors to explore opportunities in mining sector in the state, assuring of good hospitality.

Speaking to the news men Ambassador Yahaya Seriki noted that the solid minerals sector is enhancing Nigeria’s economic profile.

He therefore advised investors to give back to the community by taking care of the host community and state at large.
