SSA Transport’ Orire Pledges Continued Support as Ariwoola Leads NURTW for Another Term


In a ceremony held yesterday at the state secretariat of NURTW in Ilorin, Kwara State, Alhaji Ariwoola was officially inaugurated as the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) for the state. The event was marked by congratulations and pledges of collaboration from both the re-elected leadership and the Kwara State government.

Representing the state government, the Senior Special Assistant on Transport, Honourable Orire Ibrahim Olanrewaju, extended his warm wishes to Alhaji Ariwoola and the entire NURTW executive. He assured them of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s unwavering support for the transportation sector and its stakeholders.

“The Governor recognizes the crucial role NURTW plays in driving economic activity and ensuring smooth transportation across the state,” Hon. Olanrewaju stated. “His administration remains committed to working closely with your union to address challenges, create conducive working conditions, and ultimately improve the lives of all transportation workers in Kwara.”

Hon. Olanrewaju further emphasized the government’s dedication to infrastructural development and modernization within the sector. He highlighted ongoing projects and plans aimed at upgrading roads, creating designated bus terminals, and promoting modern transportation solutions.

Alhaji Ariwoola, in his acceptance speech, expressed gratitude for the government’s support and pledged the NURTW leadership’s commitment to collaborating effectively with the state. He outlined his vision for a more organized, efficient, and professional transportation sector in Kwara, with a focus on safety, improved service delivery, and adherence to traffic regulations.

“We understand the responsibility that comes with this mandate,” Alhaji Ariwoola declared. “We are determined to work tirelessly with the Kwara State government, stakeholders, and the general public to build a truly exemplary transportation system that serves the needs of all.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by dignitaries such as the Technical Adviser on Transport, Hon. Musbau Shola Abubakar, and House of Assembly Commission Chairman, Hon. Femi Yusuf.
