The international Vocational Technological Center (IVTEC) recently welcomed a visit from the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Transport., Mallam Ibrahim Olarewaju Orire. Both parties discussed collaborating on a vital initiative to enhance road safety in the state.

Engr. Dr. Yaru S.S., Rector of IVTEC, expressed his appreciation for the SSA’s visit and highlighted the importance of creating a platform to educate drivers on best practices. He emphasized the need for collaboration and “cross-fertilization of ideas” to develop a policy document outlining driver expectations on the road.

In a statement made available to Just Event Online TV on Monday

The SSA on Transport reciprocated the Rector’s gratitude and acknowledged IVTEC’s dedication to vocational and entrepreneurial training. He emphasized that organizing a training workshop for both government and private drivers has been a top priority since assuming office. He further noted continued efforts to engage with all transport stakeholders in the state to promote road safety.

The SSA welcomed the partnership with IVTEC, expressing confidence that it will lead to a more robust program. He assured the Rector of the government’s ongoing support.

A seven-member committee was formed by the SSA and IVTEC to develop the framework for the successful implementation of the Drivers Training Workshop. This collaborative effort signifies a significant step towards improved driver education and ultimately, safer roads in the state.
