The apex indigenous students’ association in Kwara state, National Association of Kwara Students (NAKSS) National Headquarters under the leadership of Comrade MUFTAU, Mubarak Shittu (ATUNLUSHE) is pleased to inform the public that the registration portal for 5 days skills acquisition training has been closed.
This development is in line with the registration procedures which was earlier announced for five days, and it elapsed on the 29th November 2021. It’s imperative to note that within a space of five days, six hundred and ten entries were received across the three senatorial districts in Kwara state with different choices of skills.
As the norms of the leadership of NAKSS National Headquarters, to enhance fairness, transparency, objectivity and adequately inform her esteem members has deemed it again important to intimate the public through infographics, the entries received in the upcoming five days skills acquisition training.
Emphatically, out of the 610 entries received, 335 were male and 275 were females which represent 55% and 45% respectively.
Fast-forward, the watchful decision of Kwara students to become savvy and resourceful was felt in the registration turnout which is worthy of commendation. Entries received in the choice of skills acquisition include pastries 127, yoghurt production 218, tye and dye 121, disinfectant production 68 and liquid wash 76. These equate to 21%, 36%, 19%, 11% and 13% respectively m
For clarity of responsibility, it should be noted that entries were received from the sixteen local governments in the state. Beginning from Ilorin West 112 entries; Asa 33 entries; Baruten 13 entries; Edu 56 entries; Ekiti 8 entries; Ifelodun 48 entries; Ilorin East 63 entries; Ilorin South 48 entries; Irepodun 27 entries; Isin 18 entries; Kaima 53 entries; Moro 17 entries; Offa 42 entries; Oke-Ero 10 entries; Oyun 22 entries and Pategi 45 entries.
In the same vein, the total entries received by each senatorial district includes Kwara North 197, Kwara Central 261 and Kwara South 152 which sequentially constitute 32%, 43% and 25%.
It should be noted that applicants submitted entries from various tertiary institutions in the country as well as secondary school leavers. Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin; University of Ilorin; Kwara State University, Malete; Al-Hikmah University; COED, Ilorin; COED, Oro; Federal Polytechnic Offa.
Others are Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto; Adesina College; Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi; Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilorin; Federal University, Gusau; Ibrahim Badamasi Banbagida University, Lapai and the host of numerous others.
It should, however, be stressed that this social development and means of self-reliance program is sponsored by Alh. Shuaibu Yamman Abdullahi,
Commissioner, Revenue Fiscal and Mobilization Commission (RMAFC), Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Finally, applicants would be duly selected by putting the fair interest of each senatorial interest at heart. Henceforth, one hundred selected applicants would be communicated through an invite text message alongside the date and venue for the commencement of the training.
