Founder of Nuru L Hudah Islamic Foundation, Sheikh Ibrahim Hanafi Eleyinla Hasibunallah, has cautioned public office holders against corruption, urging them to see their positions as a trust from Allah rather than a tool for personal gain.
Just Event Online TV reports, The Islamic scholar gave the warning on Wednesday during the Annual 2025 Ramadan Lecture organized by the Member representing Ipaye/Malete/Oloru Constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly (KWHA) and Gbedeniyi of Shao Land, Hon. Lawal Ayanshola Saliu, held in Shao town, Moro Local Government Area.
Sheikh Eleyinla emphasized that politicians, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and market heads should emulate Caliph Umar (RA), one of the successors of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), by leading with integrity and avoiding the misappropriation of public funds.
“The position you hold is not by your power but by Allah’s will. Do not let corruption be your priority. If you embezzle public funds, history will not be kind to you because you were given a mandate to protect, not to exploit,” he warned.
He further urged leaders at all levels to be transparent, just, and accountable, stressing that true leadership is a test from Allah and will be judged accordingly.
The event had in attendance religious scholars, political figures, community leaders, and residents, who all reflected on the significance of honest governance and selfless service to the people.
