Renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Yusuf Olopoewa has credited the generosity of Hon. Abdullateef Femi Adebayo, a prominent figure known for his philanthropy, to the values instilled by his grandparents.
Speaking at the 2025 Annual Ramadan lecture held on Sunday at Agor Mosque, Pakata Roundabout in Ilorin, Sheikh Olopoewa emphasized the critical role of upbringing and family values in shaping character and fostering a spirit of giving.
The lecture, organized by Hon. Abdullateef Femi Adebayo, centered on key Islamic themes, including the significance of Ramadan, the virtues of Laylatul Qadr, and the importance of fasting. Sheikh Olopoewa highlighted how these practices teach self-discipline and charity—qualities exemplified by Hon. Femi Adebayo. “His generosity is a reflection of the lessons passed down from his grandparents,” the scholar noted, urging others to draw inspiration from this legacy.
Sheikh Olopoewa called on the public to emulate Hon. Femi Adebayo and his family by showing appreciation and support to loved ones, staying connected to their roots, and extending help to those in need, both within and beyond their immediate circles.
“By living these principles, we can uplift our communities and nurture a sense of responsibility,” he said.

The event attracted a notable individuas , including the National President of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Abdulmumini Ayo Abdulmalik; Kwara State PDP Secretary, Hon. Abdulrahman Kayode; and popular comedian Yahya Habeeb Olatunji, widely known as Babakamo. Other dignitaries, such as Alhaji Sulaiman Akinkanjuode Ilorin, were also in attendance, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
