The All Progressives Congress Candidate for Asa/Ilorin West House of Representatives, Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya, commenced his voter-engagement tour at the Warah /Oshin / Egbejila Ward of Ilorin West Local Government yesterday, February 13th 2023.

Standing alongside Shagaya in his entourage were the House of Assembly candidates for Ilorin Central and Ilorin Northwest constituencies, Barrister Oba Abdulqadir and Alhaja Aishat Tundun Alanamu, respectively; the APC Ilorin West Chairman, Honourable Sulyman Tejidini and the chairman Salman Shagaya Foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, amongst others. The entourage was received by the various party leaders, members, stakeholders, and supporters.

A mammoth crowd in support of the APC candidate engulfed the campaign rally points which covered various wards in Warah/Oshin/Egbejila, Oko-Erin and Badari, culminating Magaji Ngeri Ward of Ilorin West Local Government.

The vibrant sea of green and red could be seen for meters on end as the crowd, defying the scorching sun, sang in praise of Mallam Shagaya waving party flags, brooms and posters enthusiastically.

Shagaya reassured his constituents of his ambition to serve selflessly and his pledge to bring fair representation and innovative development to his constituency.

“I am most grateful to the Almighty that I come from a family where philanthropy, human capacity development and social impact are values that have been instilled in us from a very young age. This opportunity given to me is not just for me but for all of us – and especially for the youth. I will not disappoint you nor put shame on the integrity and dignity of my family pedigree if elected God – willing. Today we are here to seek your support and blessings to vote for us and all APC candidates come the General Elections”, Shagaya said.

At the final leg of the tour, Chairman Salman Shagaya Foundation, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, further enjoined the electorate to cast their votes for all the APC candidates. He announced his support by means of a new fund through his foundation, for the Asa/Ilorin West constituency, that focuses on infrastructure, public amenities, and human capacity development – with a seed donation of a billion naira. The foundation will commence with 300 boreholes to be distributed between Asa & Ilorin West Federal constituency.
