Seven states reported 86 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, according to figures released on Monday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The agency also reported one additional COVID-19 related death.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Monday. Kaduna recorded the highest number of new infections with 41 cases, followed by Lagos – 24, Osun – 10, Bauchi – 6, Ekiti – 2, Ondo – 2 and Edo – 1.
The health agency said that the 86 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 212,713.
However, 204,379 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said. With one COVID-19 related death, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,906, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral National Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
