The Senator representing Kwara North, Sadiq Suleiman Umar, has tendered an unreserved apology to his constituents following misunderstandings arising from his recent contributions during a Senate debate on security breaches affecting parts of the state.
In a personally signed statement and obtained by Just Event Online TV , Senator Sadiq clarified that he had no intention of downplaying the suffering and losses of the people he represents at the Upper Chamber.
“I am therefore sorry, because I am human—hence this slip in my presentation, especially not pointing out the challenges still being faced by some parts of Kwara North,” he stated.
Recalling his consistent legislative interventions and public advocacy on security matters, the lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to working with all relevant stakeholders to tackle the menace of insecurity that has claimed lives and disrupted livelihoods across several communities.
Senator Sadiq also commended community leaders, vigilante groups, and traditional rulers for their resilience and proactive roles in combating criminal activities in their respective areas.
He pledged to strengthen support for local security efforts and to deepen collaboration with both the state and federal governments to achieve lasting peace in Kwara North.
While appreciating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their ongoing efforts to secure the state and the nation at large, Senator Sadiq assured constituents that positive results would soon be evident.
“I know what is being done behind the scenes, and my people will soon see the results,” he concluded.
