In a world increasingly defined by interdependence and collective action, Nigeria’s presence on global platforms has never been more crucial. Once again, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, has demonstrated commendable leadership and international engagement by serving as a Nigerian delegate at the South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on 28–29 April, 2025.

The forum, themed “Interregional and Intercontinental Cooperation in the Countries of the South: An Essential Lever for Meeting New Challenges of International Cooperation and Achieving Peace, Security, Stability, and Shared Development,” brought together distinguished parliamentarians from Africa, the Arab world, Latin America, and the Caribbean. It provided a high-level platform for lawmakers to deliberate on strengthening South-South cooperation as a strategic response to global challenges.

Senator Mustapha’s participation is a testament to his rising profile as a statesman committed to advancing not only the interests of his constituents but also Nigeria’s broader strategic influence. His presence reaffirmed Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to fostering dialogue, promoting peace, driving sustainable development, and building resilient partnerships across continents.

Known for his intellect, diplomacy, and strong advocacy for youth empowerment and economic development, Senator Saliu Mustapha’s contribution at the forum was both timely and impactful. He championed the need for deeper collaboration among countries of the Global South, especially in areas of economic diversification, innovation, peacebuilding, and tackling climate change — issues crucial to Nigeria’s future and the continent’s stability.

Furthermore, his role at the forum complements his broader legislative work, including his membership at the Pan-African Parliament, where he has consistently advocated for policies that prioritize inclusive growth, transparency, and global cooperation.

At a time when Nigeria must assert its leadership and forge meaningful alliances, Senator Mustapha’s representation at such a prestigious gathering reflects his vision of a Nigeria that is respected, proactive, and fully engaged in shaping the future of global governance.

In Senator Saliu Mustapha, Nigeria and Kwara Central have not only a capable legislator but also a forward-thinking diplomat — one who understands that true development lies not in isolation, but in building bridges across nations and peoples.
