The Senator representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Sen. Sadiq Suleiman Umar, on Tuesday, paid a solidarity and condolence visit to communities in Kaiama Local Government Area affected by recent bandit attacks that claimed lives and disrupted livelihoods.

This was contained in a press statement signed by Sen. Sadiq Suleiman Umar (3SU) Media Team and obtained by Just Event Online TV

During the visit, Senator Sadiq, accompanied by community leaders, youths, and stakeholders, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and reassured residents of ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the area.

He also stopped at the Kaiama Local Government Secretariat, where he was received by the Vice Chairman on behalf of the LGA Chairman. The meeting offered an opportunity to assess local security efforts and reinforce government support.

Senator Sadiq appreciated the swift intervention of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, whose provision of logistics and motorcycles greatly aided security operations in the remote terrains. He also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing national security and supporting peace-building across Nigeria.

“I commend our law enforcement agencies, the Nigerian Army, Police, and vigilante groups for their bravery in restoring order. We must sustain this peace,” he said.

He pledged to intensify advocacy at the national level for improved security infrastructure and community policing in Kwara North.

The visit was hailed by constituents as timely and reassuring, with residents describing it as a clear indication that their concerns are not being ignored.

Senator Sadiq called on residents to remain vigilant and continue collaborating with security forces to safeguard their communities.
