Salman Shagaya Foundation Kicks Off Ramadan Cash Relief Empowerment as 1000 people benefited

 

The Salman Shagaya Foundation under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, recently launched its Ramadan Cash Relief Empowerment initiative, providing financial support to over 1000 beneficiaries from various backgrounds across the state.

The event took place at the Honourable Muktar Shagaya Constituency Office in Ilorin and marked a significant milestone in the foundation’s ongoing efforts to alleviate hardship during the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, the Director General of the NGO, Alhaji Muftau Akanbi Oke stated that: “the Ramadan Cash Relief Empowerment is just one of the many ways the Salman Shagaya Foundation continues to make a positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate in Kwara State. This timely intervention has brought much-needed relief to beneficiaries, enabling them to observe the holy month of Ramadan with greater peace of mind”.

Beneficiaries were categorized into two groups, with some receiving 100,000 naira and others receiving 50,000 naira. While some recipients collected their funds in cash, others were given their aid via bank transfers. The event was filled with joy, gratitude, and heartfelt prayers from the beneficiaries who expressed their deep appreciation for the foundation’s generosity.

At the Salman Shagaya Foundation’s empowerment program, attendees were treated to a soul-nourishing sermon delivered by the esteemed Sheikh Abdulrazaq Alohunmata. The cleric’s uplifting words resonated deeply with the audience, providing spiritual sustenance and guidance to all those present.

The DG also announced that all is set as member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, Honourable Muktar Tolani Shagaya will be empowering not less than 700 individuals in both Ilorin West and Asa Local Government with the sum of #100,000 and #50,000 range. He added that it will be coming up on Tuesday, 19th of March, 2024.

In his address, Sheikh Alohunmata also took a moment to recognize and applaud the Foundation’s founder, Alhaji Sherif Shagaya, for his remarkable contributions to both Islam and humanity. Alhaji Shagaya’s commitment to uplifting the lives of the less fortunate through his philanthropic endeavours has made a significant impact on the community, and Sheikh Alohunmata’s heartfelt appreciation served as a testament to this.

Several distinguished guests were in attendance, including Alhaji Ganiy Saadu, Council Chairman of Asa Local Government; Alhaji Issa Amosa; Alhaji Baba Olosasa; Alhaji Adefalu; Alhaji Sulyman Tejidini, APC Chairman of Ilorin West; Alhaji Shehu Yahaya, APC Chairman of Asa; Hon. Sulyman Abubakar Tejidini; and Mallam Abdulwahab Abdulmajeed, among others.
