It would be recalled some members of ALGON had risen from its meeting held at the home of Hon. Omole (Former, Chair Isin LG) has issued a communiqué signed by Hon Yusuf Salihu Mohammed(Adabata) and reads “the immediate past Elected Council Chairmen,Vice Chairmen, Secretaries to the Councils, Supervisors and Honourable Councilors met in Ilorin, Kwara state today,17th Auq,2021 and resolved as follows;

“The meeting deliberated on the welfare and general well-beings of our members across 16LGs, Kwara state and reviewed the unbearable living condition therein and none payment of 50% outstanding salaries as earlier promised by Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq,Executive Governor, Kwara state.

” The meeting reminded the Government that Salary is a fixed reqular payment typically paid on a monthly basis by an employer to an employee thus it becomes an arrears payable to an employee as part of a debt that is overdue after missing one or more months required but in our own case it’s for 18Months period of our unlawful suspension from the Councils.

“The meeting requested the State Government under the leadership of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to pay the balance of 14months salaries in full without further delayed.

“We say CAPITAL NO to snail approach manner of payment half salary to the suspended Councils in–Three Months interval or in tranches it stressed.

Reacting to the communiqué in an interview with selected journalists in Ilorin, Comr. Yinka Dallas who spoke on behalf of his other 8 colleagues said “We were not at the said meeting, so we therefore disagree with some of the submissions as contained in the communiqué.

“While we throw our weight behind the ongoing negotiation which is aimed at ensuring the payment of the outstanding salary arrears, taking into cognisance the economic reality of the State and the daunting expectations of the electorates on the government.

“We believe in the leadership and magnanimity of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and therefore we’re of the opinion that issuing a communiqué and making it public is a drawback from the progress we’ve made and also a subtle sign of nonchalance to the economic realities which were privileged to have full information about.

“We use this opportunity to reaffirm our unalloyed support, loyalty and dedication to the Administration of Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and are thus willing to make necessary sacrifices towards ensuring this administration succeeds” he stressed.
