The House of Representatives has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to rescue the Treasurer of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ward 3, Oruk Anam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Enobong Williamson, from his abductors.
The call followed the unanimous adoption of a motion of urgent public importance moved by the member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom at the House, Unyime Idem, at the plenary on Tuesday.
The motion was titled ‘The Unfortunate Kidnapping and Disappearance of Mr. Enobong Williamson and Need for the Federal Government to Intensify Efforts in Curbing the Incessant Kidnappings in Nigeria.’
Idem expressed “concern and sadness” over the incessant kidnappings going on across the country “and most importantly and recently” in Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency of Akwa Ibom State.
He said, “Unfortunately, the whole community was greeted with the sad news of the kidnapping and disappearance of Mr. Enobong Williamson who, until his disappearance, was the Treasurer, Peoples Democratic Party Ward 3, Oruk Anam LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
