On Saturday, 30th of September,2023, the election tribunal, sitting in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital nullified the election results in 5 polling units in my constituency, thereby declaring my victory as inconclusive and ordering a rerun election in the affected polling units within 90 days.
Although, our legal team are still reviewing the judgement and the outcome of their review will determine if the judgement will be appealed or not, but personally speaking, I am always excited to prove to the world that Asa and indeed Kwara State is truly free and liberated.
A rerun is an opportunity to show the world once again that when our people said otoge in 2019 and reaffirm that decision in 2023, it not a fluck.
For me, the judgement of the tribunal is an opportunity to connect with our people again and show the world that their support for me is exactly what it is, a support for their daughter who is not only committed to representing them well, but elevating the issues affecting our constituency.
I assure our people that there’s no cause for alarm, the mandate of the Owode/Onire constituency is secure with me and I will continue to do my best to bring the dividend of good governance to Owode/Onire constituency
