In a groundbreaking and historic move, Honourable Representative, Muktar Shagaya of Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, today hosted a Town Hall meeting that brought together all stakeholders from across the constituency. Religious leaders, traditional rulers, security forces, community-based organizations, people with disabilities, market women and artisans, journalists and teachers’ unions, political chieftains, transporters and various youth and women’s organizations were all in attendance. It was a forum for open dialogue, where they were able to share their views, give feedback, and make requests based on their priorities.
In his remarks, the Honourable Representative expressed his gratitude for the support and commitment of the attendees, and pledged to continue engaging with the constituency to ensure that the benefits of democracy are realized. He emphasized the need for continued collaboration and communication, and called for unity and cooperation in working towards the common goal of improving the lives of the people.
Hon. Muktar Shagaya emphasized that he has been enjoying positive synergy with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Senator Saliu Mustapha and 4 House of Assembly members under his constituency. He seized the opportunity to announce the appointment of his Liaison Officers across 29 wards in Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency stating that as part of his strategy to promote his community relationship and create sense of belonging with his constituents.
The Town Hall meeting, held in Afon, the Asa Local Government Council headquarters, also provided an opportunity for the attendees to share their experiences and insights, and to offer suggestions for how to address the issues facing the constituency. Many attendees expressed their gratitude for the Representative’s efforts in bringing everyone together, and for his willingness to listen to their concerns.
