The Acting Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has said the Force was working on a surveillance application that would capture all motor parks, and hotels in the country among others.
Additionally, he said the Force was also working on an innovation that could collect and manage data about all domestic workers with verified employment histories.
According to him, the innovation would complement the Digitalised Central Motor Registry which had been in use, adding that the innovation would be launched before the end of the year.
A statement by the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi said the Police boss stated this after a tour of the state-of-the-art National Command and Control Centre facility and the Nigeria Police Crime and Incidence Database Centre at Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Adejobi said the IG called on police officers and Nigerians to embrace the ”Rescue Me mobile application” as well as other technology by the Force.
He said the Force’s adoption of the technology would help operations in the country and strengthen the bond between police and citizens.
He, however, said the IG directed all investigation units and police formations to instantly reactivate the NPCIDC application to improve their investigations among others.
