Kwara youths has been charged to maintain unity and togetherness among each other for the development of the state.
In a phone conversation with Just Event Online TV concerning the football match between Kwara youths scheduled for April 24, the convener, Play With Kwara Youths, Yusuf Mutiu Olaitan popularly called Young Sturaro said the idea is to bring youths of Kwara together on a turf after the 2023 has caused a whole lot of division amongst them.
He posited that the convergence will send positive signal to the world that Kwara youths can still be united even in the face of partisan politics.
He disclosed that selection of participants cuts across the three senatoral districts that made up of the State.
Speaking against the backdrop that the idea was politicallly manipulated, he said; it’s a big fat lie. There’s no iota of truth to that. We selected from almost every political party in the state. We have over 70 participants and all of them contributed a token for jersey customization and the venue. So, I dare to say no one party in the whole of Kwara can say they have a stake in the organization of Play With Kwara Youths.
Yusuf however urged Kwara youths to always prioritize the youth constituency wherever they found themselves.
We are the most critical section of every functioning state, and we must always be functioning, he said.
He also urged Kwara youths to continue participating in sport, describing it as the only phenomenon that makes one forget any division that politics might have brought.
