In a compassionate effort to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the tragic Patigi boat mishap, the Kwara State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) joined forces with officials from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to distribute much-needed relief materials.

Symbolic presentation

The collaboration aimed to bring solace and support to the distressed and vulnerable victims in the state.

During the distribution, Mallam Saadu Moshood Mogaji, the Secretary of Kwara SEMA, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Etsu Patigi and the entire community of Patigi Local Government Area.

He acknowledged that while the relief materials could not restore the lives lost, they exemplified the government’s responsiveness and commitment to providing aid during these difficult times. He also offered prayers for the departed souls, wishing them peace in Jannatul Firdous.

SEMA Secretary

Mallam Saadu Moshood Mogaji emphasized the proactive role played by the Kwara State Government in preventing similar disasters by conducting extensive awareness campaigns on waterway safety practices.

In his address, the Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Umar Bologi, expressed gratitude on behalf of the victims for the support and assistance rendered by both the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government. He pledged unwavering support to the administration of His Excellency Mallam AbdulRasaq AblduRahman, recognizing that their achievements are shared successes.

Alhaji Umar Bologi fervently prayed that such a tragic incident would never be witnessed again in the region.

Estu Patigi

With a solemn commitment to accountability, the Etsu Patigi assured SEMA and NEMA officials that the distributed items would reach the intended beneficiaries directly, ensuring that those most in need receive the necessary aid.

The joint efforts of the agencies aimed to bring back smiles and hope to those grappling with the aftermath of the boat mishap, fostering a sense of unity and support in the community
