Oyun Local Government Council has presented cash relief to victims of the recent rainstorm in Ipee, Igbonna, and Eleeku towns.
The gesture is a complement to the efforts of the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman CON, who had earlier provided support to the affected communities.
Speaking to Just Event Online TV, the TIC Chairman of Oyun LGA, Dr. Abdulwaheed Ibrahim Olaitan, expressed appreciation for the Governor’s proactive response to the rainstorm that caused havoc in the area.
He noted that five towns were affected by the rainstorm in April, but the council is starting with cash relief to three communities today.
The Chairman urged the community representatives to share the money judiciously among the affected victims in their respective towns.
Ipee and Igbonna will get 400K each while Eleeku will go home with 300K, he added
The TIC Secretary, DMP, and Treasurer of Oyun LGA also commended the Governor for his dedication and commitment to serving the people of the state.
Representatives of each town hailed the initiative and prayed for the council and the Kwara Governor.
