The Owode Onire constituents in Asa local govt area of Kwara State has commended Hon Rukayat Shittu for distributing palliatives across the 9 wards of the constituency without political consideration.
The visibly joyous beneficiaries said that, this is the first time they are receiving palliatives from government, praying for the administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to succeed, while thanking Honourable Rukayat Shittu for ensuring it gets to them in the village.
One of the beneficiaries, who simply identified himself as Lukman Foga in Owode Gbogun said that, I am just going back to my shop from the village, when I was stopped on the road and handed over a bag of rice by Honourable Rukayat Shittu’s team.
“Several people around the village were all given a bag of rice each and they said it is palliative from Hon Rukayat” Lukman said.
Another beneficiary, simply identified as Mariama Yunus from Fata said that, they thought only politicians have access to government palliatives, but they are surprised that Hon Rukayat could bring the palliatives to them in their village and without being member of any political party.
An elderly woman, identified as Iya Hauwa who benefited from the palliative in Efue village, said that Hon Rukayat team simply walk into their house to deliver palliative.
According to her, I saw them walk in and I was asking who they were looking for, only to hear that they came to give us palliative from Hon Rukayat.
“I didn’t understand what that meant and soon after, they others brought me a bag of rice from their vehicle”.
“This is a strange thing to us and we are very happy ” she said.
Earlier, the honourable member, representing Owode Onire state constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Hon Rukayat Shittu had commissioned different teams to deliver rice palliatives to the 9 wards of her constituency.
The modality of distribution was carefully designed to ensure villagers and members of the general public in her constituency received the palliative.
The palliative was widely distributed across several demography and sectors, including villages, markets, joints, etc.
