Out of School Children: Kwara Commissioner for Education, Saadatu Kawu visit Hausa Communities

The Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajiya Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, today visited the Hausa Community in the Zango Area of Ilorin South LG; and the famous ‘Koro Afoju’ in the Gambari area of Ilorin East LG, in the company of Hajiya Fatima Oba-Banu, the Executive Chairman, Agency for Mass Education, Kwara State; and the SA to the Governor on Inter-Community Relations, Issa Isiaka Jega.

The visit was to consult with, and sensitize the communities with the highest numbers of Out-Of-School Children (OOSC) in the State; as well as seek their buy-in, as representatives of those communities.

The spokesmen of both communities appreciated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for giving them SA on Inter-Community Relations, and expressed their gratitude for the visit. They gave their nods for the laudable initiative, and we’re particularly thankful, that they now have a government that thinks about them.

They assured the Commissioner and her team, that they would inform their people in all the 16 LGA’s of Kwara State, and promised to cooperate, and support the cause wholeheartedly, as it is in the interest of their children and the entire community.
Hajiya Modibbo Kawu thanked them for making it easy, by supporting the initiative in the first instance, and that they would be invited to nominate representatives to join the Enrolment Drive Committee.
