The Omotosho Scholars Platform and Foundation (OSPF) held its first annual public lecture and scholarship award presentation at Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria.
The scholarship was awarded to eleven students across levels; Two O’level beneficiaries #30,000 each, five Jamb beneficiaries #10,000 each, One College of Health Beneficiary #30,000, and #50, 000 to Three degree students.
OSPF coordinator, Mallam Habeebullah Abdulrazaq Ajape, said the platform’s traced back to its founder, Mallam Muhammad Kameel Omotosho’s experiences as a student struggling to make ends meet.
Omotosho’s desire to help others overcome similar challenges birthed the OSPF in 2011, and since then, the platform has blossomed into a beacon of hope for countless aspiring scholars.
Ajape’s words echoed with pride as he recounted the OSPF’s impact. From scholarships and mentorship to innovative programs, the platform has empowered individuals to navigate their academic journeys and reach for their dreams.
This commitment to both Islamic and Western education, along with vocational skills training, ensures that scholars emerge as well-rounded individuals equipped to contribute to society.
Ajape articulated the OSPF’s ambitious vision. Partnering with educational institutions, community leaders, and corporations, the platform aims to expand its reach and touch even more lives. By introducing new programs and strengthening existing partnerships, the OSPF aspires to create a world where every individual has access to quality education and the opportunity to pursue their aspirations.
The OSPF’s maiden public lecture and scholarship award presentation stands as the power of hope, dedication, and community support.
On his part, Idris Abdulganney Yinka secretary of the NGO, highlighted the major positive impact of the organization in the community and individuals.
Speaking on the topic “purposive Education for the youth towards community development”, the guest speaker, SSA Community Development to Kwara Gov, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, encouraged youth to focus on their education and develop themselves with skills, volunteer in community service and in an organization that can help their career.
He therefore admonished them against the quick money syndrome but rather should live an impactful life, choose a good role model to be their mentor and be prayerful.
The event brought together distinguished guests, across walks of life, including members of the press, OSPF members, volunteers and students from different secondary schools.
