OPINION:Alanamu Ward : A Ward of Political Elites or Educational Elites By Abiola Mustapha

There are 193 wards in Kwara state, statistically only Alanamu ward in Ilorin the ward that claimed to have the largest polling unit in Ilorin west local Government and kwara at large doesnt have a single Senior Secondary School. Most of their children goes to another wards to pursue their senior secondary career, If other wards too are only interested in politics, that means children of Alanamu ward will only ends their education career at Junior Secondary School.

Now a newly created and Approved Senior Secondary School at Abata Shuban Ita Kudimoh, the only Senior Secondary School in the entire Alanamu ward. The school was Approved on SUBEB buildings and shortage of classrooms and staffroom has been the greatest challenges facing the school, all tescom teachers, 3 vice principals and the principal of the school are sitting outside. The students from SS1 – SS3 are packed in a congested classrooms. No science lab as there is no single building from Teaching Service Commission, what a pity!

Instead of all the political elites in Alanamu ward to rally round and assist Government to bring the first senior secondary school in Alanamu ward alive, they shifted their attentions into politics alone and neglected education that happens to be the future of the ward

Senior Secondary School Abata Shuban Ita kudimoh ilorin with a population of 275 students and staff of 13

ALANAMU WARD should wake up to their educational responsibility…A challenge to all elites in Alanamu ward
