Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), and the Nigeria police, have again pledged to work together to rid the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), of crime and criminality.
FCT Commandant, NSCDC, Olusola Odumosu revealed that the two agencies will continue to maintain cordial relationship while joining forces to provide adequate security for residents of the FCT and environs.
He made this known while on a courtesy visit to the office of the Inspector General of Police, (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, at the Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, weekend in Abuja.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, (PRO), FCT command of the NSCDC, Comfort Okomanyi, contains that the commandant “acknowledged that although police officers and civil defenders have an existing relationship, it is important to strengthen such relationship across all cadres as this would foster a more secured territory.”
He stated that the rate of criminality and vandalism of critical asset and infrastructures in the FCT was of major concern to him and the Corps at large, hence the need for a more robust synergy with the police and other security agencies to curb such criminalities.
Odumosu who is of the same alma mater with the IGP, the Awori Anglican Comprehensive High School (AACHS), Ipaja, Lagos, pointed that synergy between the two security agencies will yield more positive result and secure the nation’s capital, Abuja.
