NSCDC dismisses 15, retires nine officials

No fewer than 31 officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), are facing sanctions for various offences and acts inimical to their call of duty.

The Corps said 15 personnel were dismissed, nine retired compulsorily, and seven suspended while two were demoted.

Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi, said the disciplinary measures were approved by the Board of the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services.

Audi said the measure would rid the service of bad eggs and ensure discipline in order to reposition and sanitise the Corps against vices.

A statement signed by the NSCDC spokesman, Olusola Odumosu, said the NSCDC chief confirmed the sanction of the erring personnel at a management meeting at the NSCDC National Headquarters, in Abuja.
