The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Wednesday declared total war on bandits and other criminals terrorising the country

In a statement by DCC Olusola Odumosu, Director of Public Relations, he said one of the functions of the Corps is to protect lives and property, as such it must go to any length to ensure that citizens’ lives are protected against all forms of criminals

The Corps, therefore, assured citizens that the scientific synergy and collaboration between the Corps and other security agencies will soon yield positive results.

According to him, the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, is optimistic that security agencies are working tirelessly to bring about positive changes and called on the citizens not to allow fear and panic to affect them.

He added that the effort is being geared toward confronting the menace of insecurity and reversing the ugly trend.

He said the high-powered meeting of Deputy Commandant Generals, Zonal Commanders, and Commandants convened by him was necessitated by the urgent need to put an end to the quagmire, adding that there is a need to go back to the drawing table to brainstorm and come up with new strategies and methods of resolving the problems of insecurity in the country
