The Northern Senator’s Forum has condemned the mass killings in Plateau State, saying the “brutal act is indefensible, devoid of reason, and stains our shared humanity.”
At least 145 persons were killed in bandits’ attacks on 23 villages in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi local government areas of Plateau State.
The attacks, which also left hundreds of people injured and property destroyed, were said to have occurred from Saturday night to the early hours of Monday.
The Northern senators, in a statement by their spokesperson, Senator Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, called for a thorough investigation into the attacks and the arrest of the perpetrators to face the full force of the law.
They also urged the federal government to consolidate investigation reports of similar cases, taking necessary action to prevent future occurrences.
