The Nigerian Maritime Administration & Safety Agency (NIMASA) in collaboration with the Office of the SSA to the Governor of Kwara State on Culture & Tourism, on Tuesday, organized a One-Day Capacity Building /Interactive Session for Security and Health Stakeholders in Kwara State
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Bashir Jamoh, who was ably represented by the Auditor of NIMASA, Mr. Muhammed Farouq said the program aim to find lasting solutions to security challenges facing Kwara and synergy between the security operative in the state
Speaking further he emphasis on the need to secure the society, added that without adequate security there will not be growth and development
The DG also charged the Kwara state Ministry of Health, especially the health workers to always see themselves as vital in nation-building, because without health there is no wealth, he said
While presenting Medical equipment to health workers, Security gadgets to security personnel, and educational materials to selected schools, he urged them to see Kwara and Nigeria as their project and enjoined them to make use of materials given to them judiciously
He said that the presentation is part of NIMASA’s Corporate Social Responsibility to the citizens
Receiving the materials, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who was represented by SSA Culture and Tourism to the Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Muka Ray Eyiwumi, appreciated NIMASA for the kind gesture, he expressed gratitude and emphasized that it has become necessary because “Government can not do it alone”
He noted that the government of Kwara State under Gov AbdulRahmam has put in a lot in supporting security personnel in the state, reasons why Kwara is one of the most peaceful states
Speaking on Health, he said Gov Abdul-Rahman’s investment in the Health sector can not be underestimated
He charged NIMASA to continue the good work and wished the organization well
The event was attended by Men of the Nigerian Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, and Vigilante Group of Nigeria
