Nigeria’s Men’s Handball Team, Golden Arrows Secures Redemption With Convincing Victory Over Kenya

The Nigeria men’s handball team, also known as the ‘Golden Arrows,’ triumphed over their Kenyan counterparts with a resounding 32-23 win in their third game at the ongoing Africa Men’s Handball Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The victory, secured on Sunday, marked a crucial turnaround for the Nigerian team after facing defeats in their earlier matches against Angola and Tanzania.

The first half concluded with a convincing 16-9 lead for Nigeria, setting the tone for their ultimate triumph with a final scoreline of 32-23 at the end of the second half.

The assistant coach of the Nigerian team, Solomon Yola, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, acknowledging their resilience in the face of earlier setbacks.

Yola emphasized the team’s fighting spirit, noting that despite the unfortunate losses in their first two matches against Angola (24-26) and Tanzania (19-36), the players displayed commendable effort.

“It is unfortunate that they lost their previous games, but they also fought well in those games. They played well, and we can see the result,” commented Yola.

Looking ahead, the Nigerian team is geared up for their next challenge as they prepare to face the Republic of Congo in a placement match scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The victory over Kenya has injected renewed confidence into the Golden Arrows, who are now focused on building momentum and making a positive impact in the remainder of the tournament.
