The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said it is planning to evacuate 37 Nigerians still stranded in crisis-ridden Sudan.
The agency said it had profiled the stranded Nigerians and that they are expected to arrive in the country within a week.
It said the evacuees would be brought in through a connecting flight but did not name the airline that would convey the evacuees
The source, who spoke in confidence yesterday in Abuja, said: “We are sure they will be back in the next one week. So, plans are underway to ensure that the remaining 37 are brought back home safely. But we are yet to decide on the airline to use. The evacuees will definitely land in Abuja.”
So far, the agency has evacuated 2,858 from Port Sudan and Egypt since the crisis in Sudan began.
