Eleven states and the Federal Capital Territory reported 754 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, according to figures released on Friday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The agency also reported on additional COVID-19 related death.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Friday.
Lagos recorded the highest number of new infections with 595 cases followed by FCT – 68, Imo – 49, Edo – 13, Oyo – 9, Delta – 5, Katsina – 4, Kano – 3, Plateau – 3, Ekiti – 2, Gombe – 2 and Rivers – 1.
The health agency said the 754 new cases of COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 215,918.
However, 207,670 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said.
With one additional COVID-19 related death reported, the death toll from the virus now stands at 2,981, the NCDC said.
