In a speech delivered during the 2023 legal year ceremony held on 9 January 2024 at High court premises Ilorin , Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Ilorin Branch, Kamaldeen Gambari Esq, expressed gratitude for the privilege of witnessing the important event.
Acknowledging the Hon. Chief Judge of Kwara State’s well-deserved appointment, he highlighted the progress made in addressing challenges faced by legal practitioners in the state.

Gambari commended the Chief Judge for fulfilling promises, noting the inclusion of Ilorin Branch members in the list of judges for the Kwara State High Court. He urged future appointments to consider exclusively members of the Bar, emphasizing their significant contribution to the legal field.
Addressing persistent issues with affidavit drafting, Gambari highlighted ongoing challenges despite previous engagements. He expressed hope for a swift resolution to the logjam surrounding affidavit procurement.
The Chairman explained the need for upgraded offices and courtrooms for judges to ensure a conducive environment for dispensing justice. He lauded recent contributions from legal leaders in renovating courtrooms and building a new Court Complex.
Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing the welfare of judicial officers, Gambari urged against a return to days when officers faced basic needs concerns while performing their duties.
Highlighting achievements over the past eighteen months, Gambari outlined successes such as fuel reservation during crises, free law retreats, distribution of free diaries, and the public presentation of a book. He also discussed economic empowerment for lawyers through the Legal Practitioners Bills of Professional Charges.
Commending members for their support, Gambari reported the collection of over seventy million Naira under the new policy, aimed at empowering lawyers and maintaining professional standards. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Judge for support, emphasizing the positive impact of the policy.
In a tribute, Gambari mourned the recent passing of legal icon Dr. Aliyu A. Salman, acknowledging his significant contributions to the legal profession.
