The CEO of SMEDAN, Kwara State, Mr. Adebayo Mohammed Lawal has charged youths on the importance of being self employed.
Giving his lecture on Wednesday at a Capacity Building/Skills Acquisition Program for Youth and Women of Ilorin West/ASA Federal Constituency organised by Nigeria Press Council in Collaboration with Galimo Nigeria Limited.
The program, which was facilitated by Honourable Member representing Ilorin West/ASA Federal Constituency, Hon Muktar Tolani Shagaya aimed at enlightening and educating young entrepreneur on how to boost and sustain their businesses.
He noted that an entrepreneur must be able to think outside the box and be able to convince his customers.
He harped on the importance of social media in growing the business.
Speaking further, he posited that an entrepreneur cannot survive without marketing strategy and skill, thereby urging them to employ great marketing skill for the business to thrive.
Inorder to embark on any successful business, environment is needed to be considered for such business to succeed. Marketing and sales technical is also important, he added.
He however charged them on a good character, describing it as an important role in marketing of any goods or services delivery.
While admonishing the participants, Muktar Shagaya who was represented by Hon. Bolakale Oloje urged them the make use of the acquired knowledge.
On his part, APC chairman, Asa LG Alh. Sheu, commended Shagaya for his humanitarian activities, pray to God to continue protecting him.
The event witnessed presentation of certificate and cash prize to the participants as they applauded the gesture stating that the training will shape their businesses.
