The Moro local government Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday held its first town hall meeting after the party Congress in the State, canvassed for the party’s electronic registration, and urged members to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC).
PDP members from across the seventeen (17) wards in the local government converged at Moro Secondary School, Olooru for the general meeting.
The local government chairman of the party, Hon Abdulganiyu Musa speaking at the opening ceremony in Moro, said the e-registration would deepen the process of internal democracy in the party.
He said there was a need for parties to embrace the online registration of members.
Safari added that being a registered voter would enable the party to be the standard flag bearers for every position in the next general elections.
Also speaking, the PDP chairman Kwara North senatorial district, Alhaji Shuaib Gbadungbadun said that said Kwara North has demonstrated it’s getting ready for the 2023 Governorship election in the State with the kind of gathering that PDP Moro local government had, while he implored every contestant to maintain a good level of tolerance and love.
He added that the party secretariat in Kwara North is now located at Bode Saadu which he described as a feat ahead of the general elections.
While speaking with JUST EVENT ONLINE correspondent, Former Kwara House of Assembly member, Hon Raliat Adifa expressed optimism on Moro local government PDP members, stated that it has shown the local government is ready to take the mantle.
The party’s youth leader in the local government, Comrade AbdulRauf Iyanda urged youths to ensure they get their PVC, while he seeks their attention in the coming youth summit for the party in Moro local government which will be held at Shao.
He said that the summit is about sensitization and ensuring that members across the local government area, including those at the grassroots, get registered.
Moreover, the former senate, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s presidential bid got another boost as thousands of supporters from the local government pledged their unalloyed allegiance for him.
