The Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, affirmed his commitment to youth and community empowerment initiatives at the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association’s (IEYDA) 4th Youth Summit.
Held on Monday in Ilorin, the event commemorated the 29th coronation anniversary of the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and saw scholarships and empowerment grants awarded to deserving individuals from the community.
In his address, Minister Olawande applauded the IEYDA’s efforts to uplift underprivileged groups, emphasizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s dedication to fostering youth inclusivity and entrepreneurship in Nigeria. He reiterated ongoing support and collaboration with IEYDA to further these goals.

Just Event Online TV reports, Mallam Mohammed Abdullahi, Chief of Staff to the Minister of Youth Development, highlighted the establishment of the Nigeria Youth Academy, an initiative aimed at enhancing youth skill development for competitive success globally.
In his farewell address, Alhaji Abdullahi Babatunde Salau, the outgoing National President of IEYDA, reflected on a decade of achievements under his leadership, which included extensive youth empowerment, educational scholarships, and community infrastructure projects.
He expressed gratitude to supporters, the Emir of Ilorin, and IEYDA members, celebrating the association’s significant milestones in promoting unity and cultural heritage.
Alhaji Mohammed Uthman Jagunma, the newly elected National President, outlined his vision for IEYDA’s next chapter. His agenda focuses on youth and community empowerment through education, economic development, infrastructure, security, and partnerships.
Jagunma called for continued support from donors and financiers to propel IEYDA’s mission of empowering youth, women, and artisans within the Ilorin Emirate.
