Leadership Retreat And Summit: NANS Kwara Unveil Keynote Speaker


As part of the efforts of the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Kwara State Axis to train her students on leadership qualities as potential future leaders and decision-makers, the association under the watch of Comr. Saleeman Yusuf Issah, AAT, ACA has designed a one-day LEADERSHIP RETREAT AND SUMMIT.

This event seeks to develop articulate, experienced, and competent leaders for increased responsibility and positions of influence in any capacity they find themselves

The leadership of NANS Kwara on Monday unveiled Keynote Speaker Muktar Shagaya

Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya was born on the 16th of December 1989 to the Shagaya Family; a prominent household in Kwara, Nigeria with values for both Islamic and Western Education, zeal for community development, and investment in people to address poverty. Mallam Muktar Shagaya obtained his first school leaving certificate in (1993- 1999) at Lebanese Community School, Yaba, Lagos. After a brief stint at Adesoye College, Offa, Kwara, he proceeded to Rockwell College, Tipperary, Ireland (2001-2002) and then Malvern College, Worcestershire, United Kingdom to obtain A-level/AS & GCSE (2003 – 2008).
As a bright young child with a passion for education, Muktar attended the University of Plymouth, Plymouth, and obtained a BSc. in International Relations in the Upper Division. In 2014, he returned to Nigeria for his National Youths Service, serving in the FCT, Abuja.

Right after the completion, he returned to the United Kingdom for his master’s program. He holds a Master of Arts degree in International Development and Development Management from the University of Manchester, UK.
Muktar Shagaya is an international development expert and energy executive with about 10 years of experience working across various sectors including energy, manufacturing, finance, and diplomacy in both the public and private sectors.
With a proven track record, he has led and delivered projects funded by international donors including the World Bank in rural communities across the nation. He is also rated as a people manager and community development expert.
As a brilliant and industrious young man, he is adjudged as a tri-sector leader. From a career that started as Junior Assistant at the Infrastructure Bank Plc in 2013, he has risen over the years to more outstanding positions like Business Development Manager at Karmod Nigeria Prefabricated Technologies, and Project Officer and Energy Executive at the Rural Electrification Agency.
He is credited with leading the conduct of surveys, audit reports, training, and community engagements for several projects under the agency, including the World Bank-sponsored FADAMA project and the Nigeria Electrification Project.
Muktar is currently the Business Development and Strategy Lead at A solar Systems Nigeria Limited. A renewable energy solutions company that is focused on affordable solar home systems, payable every month.
Recently, Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya joins the political race to contest for Federal House of Representatives, Ilorin West/Asa Constituency in a bid to propagate community-based representation.
