The Laka Forum, a grassroots political movement within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Offa Local Government Area, has declared its full support for Hon. Alhaji Sarafadeen Babatunde Oladipo, popularly known as Laka Omo Alubarika, as its preferred candidate to represent the Essa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly in 2027.
In a statement signed by the Forum’s Chairman, Comrade Kazeem Adekunle and obtained by Just JUST EVENT ONLINE , the group described Hon. Laka as “the most competent and credible choice” for the position, citing his integrity, experience, and long-standing commitment to community development.
> “Hon. Laka stands out not merely as a politician but as a visionary leader whose life embodies integrity, capacity, and genuine service to humanity,” the statement read.
The Forum highlighted his academic achievements, including a Master’s Degree in Policy and Development Studies from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and his professional background as an entrepreneur and administrator. According to the group, these credentials position him as a well-rounded candidate capable of providing effective legislative representation.
The statement further recalled Laka’s consistent engagement in youth and community activities, from his early days as Essa ‘B’ Youth Leader to his active role in the Offa Students Union (OSU), noting that his record of grassroots involvement and empowerment initiatives distinguishes him from other contenders.
> “He understands the needs of his people because he has lived among them, served them, and continues to champion their cause,” Adekunle added.
The Forum emphasized that the Essa/Shawo/Igbodun Constituency needs a representative who combines legislative insight with compassion, accessibility, and accountability. It praised Hon. Laka’s bridge-building nature, generosity, and responsiveness — qualities it said are crucial for effective governance and people-oriented representation.
Expressing confidence in the APC platform, the Forum stated that Laka’s emergence would usher in “renewed hope, responsible representation, and developmental strides”* for the constituency.
As the 2027 general elections approach, the group called on residents and indigenes of Essa/Shawo/Igbodun, both at home and in the diaspora, to unite behind Hon. Laka’s candidacy.
> “Hon. Laka is a movement for progress, inclusion, and purposeful governance. Vote competence. Vote capacity. Vote Laka Omo Alubarika in 2027,” the statement concluded.
