KYV holds annual Ramadan lecture, as Chief Imam of Offa preaches good governance

A political movement, Kwara Youth Vanguard (KYV) on Wednesday organized its annual Ramadan lecture in Ilorin, the State Capital.

The State Coordinator for the movement, Mallam Kehinde Ibrahim Magaji while giving his remarks at the Ramadan lecture, said that Ramadan was a period to be charitable and do good at all times.

Mallam Kehinde acknowledged the blessings and mercy of Allah which has been sustaining them from last year to this year, while he prayed to Allah to spare the lives of every Muslim ummah to witness more of the holy month.

The Chief Imam of Offa, who is the Guest Lecturer of the event, Iman Salman Muyideen Hussein in his sermon, sent a strong message to politicians on how they govern the masses.

He urged politicians to focus on good governance especially as 2022 is a year preceding a major election year in the country.

Sheikh Muyideen noted that Nigerians have been denied good governance over the years.

He added that religion, as an institution, has a vital role to play in nation-building by offering quality advice and direction to the leaders of the country, admonishing government officials to place the interest of the state and its citizens above other narrow interests with the dividends of democracy.

He, however, implored all the Muslim faithfuls to pray for peace in the country, and that the spirit of Shai’tan, the devil, does not take over the land.

“Nigerians especially the Muslim faithfuls, to avail themselves of the training and serenity that Ramadan afforded, to cleanse their hearts and enrich their souls with virtues”
