All is set for the 40th Media Parliament of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) holding in Ilorin tomorrow Tuesday, 28th of November, 2023.

The 40th edition of the media parliament will feature the Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency (KWSPHCDA), Dr Nusirat Elelu, as the Guest Speaker.

Themed “Transforming Primary Health Care Beyond Lip Service” the event will hold at NUJ Press Centre, Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin at 11am.

A statement issued in Ilorin by the Chairman and Secretary of Kwara NUJ Media Parliament Committee, Fatimah Rasheed and Babajide Fadeyi respectively said the theme was borne out of the need to assess the ongoing transformation in the primary health care in Kwara State, and to serve as a feedback for Kwarans to know the degree of attainment in the basic health subsector.

The statement noted that the forum would afford Dr Elelu, the National Award Winner for the Outstanding Executive Secretary, the opportunity to further unveil the state government plan to improve primary health for the wellbeing of the people.

The statement added that the media parliament would avail the Guest Speaker a moment to interact with front-line media practitioners so as to, in turn, inform, enlighten and educate the citizenry on different programmes in the health subsector targeted at bettering the lives of residents of the state.

Meanwhile, NUJ members across the chapels have been urged to prepare adequately for the event and attend promptly.
